Those were some few hours... a very exhausting, damp and hot day slowed me down, the lack of sleep last night (a new toy needed my attention) did the rest and I was having an incredibly stagnant day and do not feel so happy about it.
Furthermore I have a grudge against two balls of yarn I got in my mail yesterday... I wanted them to be contrasting... I wish I had went for something more subtle, way more subtle... this combination is a bit more than I can imagine wearing... yes, a Chevron Scarf it shall be, you guessed right. I do have the hope these colours I am not liking now are exact the colours that need each other and will work out fine but to believe this I must see it.
So, instead of making more hexagons I will knit and hopefully find out if I can grow to like that yarn...
The hexagons.

Crocheting the hexagons is getting faster every day and instead of making the blanket twice as big as it is in the book I will at least add another two rows or so. Still it won't be enough to cover a bed (it is really not that big!) but I suppose a bed sized throw all in tiny, colourful hexagons would be just too much to be still pretty.
Here you find more photos of the growing blanket. My favourite - I love the potential that's peeking out from beneath the edges - wonderful times to come...!
Back to that miserable colour combination now...
Take care!
Absolutely gorgeous!

Simply fabulous. Just wondering if you did any of those half hexagons for the edges?
Just to let you know, I posted the pattern for the Knit Hexagons on my website.

Hi Alex,
ich habe diverse Kombinationen für den Schal getestet - die perfekte habe ich noch nicht gefunden. Aber ich gebe nicht auf, und stricke Strümpfe aus den ungeeigneten Farben ;-))
Die Decke ist der Hammer ! Echt cool !

how beautiful ! i am not worried about your choice of colors for the chevron scarf. what i can see here is a great sense for colors. and it looks so whimsical , it could come straight out of a magic fairy-tale land. love it.

This is sooooo pretty! I'm really starting to think about learning crochet and all because of this blanket of yours. That is a LOT of yarn ends. hmmm.... I know. Make it a fringed blanket!

What a labor of love and commitment. Love the colors. Have you calculated how many hours it's taken you so far?

it looks amazing! I really like it with the loose ends. have you considered leaving it like that :)? (gosh! it is going to be a long job to do all of those loose ends).
how did you manage to take that bottom picture? did you hang it on the wall or did you climb a ladder?
suddenly looking at it I thought of some Klimt's paintings details, don't really know why.
how is this blanket going to measure in the end? it seems quite large.
have a wonderful weekend :)

I keep coming back regularly just to see how the hexagon blanket is going. Each time I visit I have a renewed energy to keep my blanket going. Thank you for your inspiration!
