A day late, but since many of you are a good deal behind my time, I hope I can still catch you in time for wishing you a lovely weekend!

Ours started with lots of rain and it was rather cold. The Laburnum sock is progressing, slowly, I am working on the heel right now, first time short rows... very curious how it will turn out.
Bye!

After a very, very rainy week we enjoyed being outside over the weekend.

Hope you are having a good time, too.

Another kitchen.
I'll be finishing the last block of my star quilt in a few minutes and will take pictures of all blocks together tomorrow, if the weather stays as beautiful as it was today.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Still sewing on the block, one rather long seam to go. Getting excited seeing it coming together... and actually a little impatient.

Happy weekend!

Today

Today's walk. Spring! The cherry blossoms only need a few more days...
Enjoy your weekend!

I thought I share these impressions from yesterday's walk with you. If I don't do today I'll never do, I know. There are so many photos I took in order to show here on the blog over the year but never did...
It was a rather mild day with little light. Very grey. Still enjoyable, as we headed in a rarely explored direction and discovered a couple of interesting things. Like that Mayumi bush (with the berries), the only one I know of in our area, an isolated, very peaceful little valley and a shrine we did not know. It is amazing how much new there is one step aside your old, well known paths here in Japan.

I hope you are all well.
30 is coming later today - until then!

numbers and hiragana

On today's walk we came across this house. The wide spaced, upside down 92 I rearranged into a 29.
The wheelchair is all corroded, tires flat. With those scaffolding parts which looked like garbage as well and the hiragana and numbers on the "board" it almost looked like a piece of art... curious for how long this exhibition will last.

48 hours until 2008.

Till tomorrow!

While getting hungry on our hunt for a Christmas tree in Ebina we went for a bite to MOS BURGER (super delicious and fast food, had a Spicy Mos Burger). When getting a number to put on our table while waiting for our food to be made I suddenly thought of changing our #15 into a post-worthy 22... so I went back to the counter, explained and asked and was granted my 22, but... 22 of all numbers had gone missing! Everybody helped looking for it but it kept hiding. I was getting a bit embarrassed because I caused such a stir, thanked and returned to our table where my meal already was waiting.
A mere bite into my burger the (what I think) store manager/owner appeared with this:

How awesome was that?!

Another reason to love Japan.

Take care!

Just a quick one today.
I'd like to knit a bit on my second Hourglass Sweater before I go to bed, more crafty posts ahead on this blog, promised ;)

Take care!

I hope you have as much fun with these simple book covers as I have. They are quick and easy to make and once you finished the first you wonder if there are more naked books that could use a nice dress...
