This week I was trying to win some ground regarding the situation in our fridge and kitchen cabinets (an oooooold bottle of soy sauce which I put on the dining table caused a little a stir) as well as in my appearingly self disordering studio. Why does it always look like suffering from earthquakes or typhoons although I feel like cleaning it up all the time?! Seriously, the tidying doesen't end and nevertheless I can't see the floor most of the times...
Then some unexpected crafting was initiated.
A bit taken by surprise I was remembered of a "bazaar" our Kindergarten has scheduled for November and everybody is supposed to donate something, three items to be accurate. Toys for kids, books, handmade goods, food... Of course I thought I should make something, despite my domestic trouble spots and chronic lack of time... Can you be a crafter and not craft when it's even asked for hand made things?!
So I came up with these seasonal coasters, combining a "well-hung" red wool from my stash with three different matching cottons, my beloved tags and blanket-stitch... the usual suspects.
And the back sides... not in the right order
And of course a tag for each set, featuring another usual suspect...
And to simulate the whole selling-your-stuff-thing I put together some rather boring/bazaar-fit packaging, using what I had at home (there IS a point in saving up these old magazines and ads!).
Once again I was surprised how pleased I can feel with something I whipped up quickly with ingredients I had at home, without thinking or planning a lot. It's one of the cases I would speak about like "These are just some unspectacular coasters being created in my usual way... nothing extraordinary, you know..." but well, I am always so modest about the things I am making...
Let's just say I would have liked to keep them!
Hope somebody else will be happy with them, too.
Have a nice weekend!
