I really am. Unfortunately the mess in my craft room is, too, although I tried my best during the last week. Next time I get rid of some furniture I really should think of another way than putting everything that was in that furniture into paper bags and on piles... This looks controllable for about one day, after that things are being disturbed (in which bag was that red linen yarn?!?), piles lose balance... soon you don't get a foot on the ground. Do not expect any photos of my place, some things are better not shown or spoken of... and I never will mention my craft room here again. It is a never ending story which hasn't have the slightest chance of ever losing its complaining tone and I guess nobody is interested in it as long I don't reveal the full dimension via some shocking pictures.
What I also cannot show are any crafts I have done in the meantime, because I haven't. I was busy with all kinds of activities like picking up my new visa in Yokohama or being on a day trip to the aqua zoo in Enoshima with half of Dagny's kindergarten...
I only started another doily just to keep my hands busy and because making doilies has such a soothing effect on me (which I seem to be in need of since I always follow my instincts when thinking of what to craft next).
To those of you who would like to try a doily yourself but hesitate because you just started crocheting in pursuit of a ripple or Granny blanket... there really isn't much skill needed. As long as you follow a pattern it actually is rather dull yet not uninspiring... You must count and do a lot of repeats, but whenever you think you have had enough of one repeat the next round begins... a new pattern to memorize, a new rhythm evolving... and always the exciting moment when you see shapes emerging, the whole pattern coming together...
After finishing the doily I am working on now I will do at least one more (maybe not back to back but some time in the future) because today I got new, softer yarn which I am excited to see in a crocheted state. I hope for that amazing softness my grandmother's tablecloth has. By the way, the yarn I crochet with is 100% cotton #40 and I use a lace hook #6.
So much for now... I will be coming back to post seven photos for Karen's challenge photo.
I hope you are all well and enjoy your weekend.
See you later!
