When I am reaching the end of a row I am getting a bit excited and tend to make the final blocks all at the same time, feels like a shortcut...
Hello all you hexagon lovers, again I owe you a big Thank You for your amazing support! The hexagons are breeding like rabbits - never would have thought I would stick to them that zealously... your comments are all so nice and I so much enjoy reading them - I guess I want to see more of them, so I keep on crocheting ;-)
Honestly, it still is my most favourite thing to do, crocheting those blocks and seeing the blanket growing.
And it feels good having begun something and working constantly on it. Maybe this actually happens to be a project that will be finished within reasonable time, unlike my quilts... which I haven't forgotten, in case you are wondering - anything at the proper time (which also applies to posting the final photos from this year's Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival... ).
There have been a lot inquiries for the hexagon's pattern and I am sorry to not being able to publish or simply pass it to you due to the copyright. I don't think though that the pattern is that original and it is really easy to come up with similar ones if you just play around a bit. It's all just plain chain stitches, a few single crochet and lots of double crochet stitches.
To show you how I am crocheting the hexagons together I added another gallery to this blog (sidebar), you might have been noticing already.
I don't know if this is the proper way to do it but it seems to work.
Excuse the lack of specific crochet vocabulary, I tried reading written instructions (in English) which might have supplied me with the right words but I simply can't do that, it's driving me mad... all these abbreviations... they are like numbers to me, can't think when seeing them.
I hope you have more luck and can read my instructions, if you have any more questions, ask!

For the rest of the week the hexagons must take a little bit of
a backseat because some very important summer sewing is to be done.
Sewing, real sewing, no silly coasters... I haven't been doing it for
so long and am actually quite nervous to start again. Keep your fingers
crossed!
And have a nice week!
PS: The block meet photos are also over at Flickr, maybe it's more convenient there to read the instructions without having to load every single photo.
