Sorry for letting you wait.
Hello!
This week flew by quickly. The kindergarten spring holidays have begun, spring, too, and there was a national holiday for celebrating this. Family time - at home - because it stormed and poured all day...
We went through Dagny's closet and it appeared she doesn't have one single pair of trousers which goes down the whole way to her ankles... arms got longer, too, the child needs clothes.
So yesterday I have spent some time with the patterns I have at home and decided on a few to make pants, smocks, blouses, skirts. No big plans on that field but something must be done.
I'll be ending up with plenty of leaves left after putting this quilt together, but I think if I haven't been running out of steam then there is another leaves quilt idea to play with... so I really hope this one will be coming together without serious problems.
So far half of the leaves are done. First each half was pinned and sewn to the background (half) and the halves sewn together.
I was nervous about sewing curves, but with quite some pins, a few tiny cuts into the background fabric and a good dose of patience it looks I was able to master that hurdle. But it still is exciting with every new leaf I am about to be sewing, hoping for it to be coming together smoothly. More pictures and a couple of explanations about cutting the background fabric here.
You know what I'll be doing the next days... sewing leaves, sewing clothes, and looking for Easter... seems a bit difficult to be found this year. Is it just too early?
Happy Easter to you!
