Today. Already the 10th. And looking up into the sky, blue. A clear view of the mountains, persimmons almost eaten up by the birds, yellow ginkgo leaves falling from the trees, frost in the morning. Winter is here.

Japan is wired, obviously.
Something that lets all streets look cluttered and unbeautiful, in a way even disconcerting because seeing all the wires and poles very often just makes you want to tear it all down and tidy up the city. At least this is how it's feeling for me. But at the same time these very apparent wires all over Japan have a funny effect: they make me feel a bit at home wherever in Japan I go because everywhere I find streets that look just like my neighbourhood.

PS: N. of Potiron Blogue would like to show photos of numbers during this month, too. Since she doesn't trust her photographic skills or luck to find a number for every day, she came up with the idea to ask her readers to submit photos of found or created/ crafted numbers.

And Kay (Hello Kay!) of Mason-Dixon Knitting asked if I had been saving up numbers for this series or had to find them  on the day I am posting them... I have some photos I couldn't show last year because I had too many back then. Those might have a second chance this year, but mostly I go out every day now to track down those numbers. At least during the first two weeks of December. Later on I might have collected them all and may concentrate on baking cookies again ;)

Yesterday we had a national holiday here in Japan (midori no hi - Greenery Day   Edit: Showa Day, things changed last year, as I just learned, Greenery Day is now celebrated on May 4) and spent a long day in the Yokohama area, walking a lot and riding the train, too, of course, and even a Ferris wheel.
Above photo I took on yesterday's walk.
Resembles in a way what I have begun this evening - appliqueing  little spots of Liberty on the quilt top that got sewn together this morning.
Thank you all so much for being here and over at Flickr to see how the leaves are doing. I am really back on track with the Liberty quilt now and very much looking forward seeing it finished. And it's so much fun doing this together with you!

As for the Month of Windows, I think I will just keep posting photos every once in a while because I have much more I'd like to share with you. The same goes for the numbers I have been collecting during last year's December - ever since, actually, never stopped.
If you have anything you would like to see me photographing here in Japan to show you, please let me know.
